If you don't take care of you, then you cannot take care of others. Self-care is NOT selfish. You cannot pour into other's cups if your cup is empty. It is important to maintain a healthy relationship with yourself. This means taking care of your self--your mind, body and soul. You can do this by participating in activities that decrease stress and encourage well-being. Practicing self-care will remind you and others that your needs are valid and a priority.
